Daybreak-partnering with Daybreak to imitate Jesus by showing the homeless that they are not forgotten, but are loved, cared for and respected.
Leader: Linda Hattan
Daybreak is a ministry that First Christian Church has been involved for about 20 years.The Daybreak shelter is on Cass St. in Joliet. It gives the homeless a place to sleep and 3 meals a day and opportunities to go to classes on parenting, alcohol & drug abuse, finances, and GED. The noon meal is served by volunteers from the Shepherds table. The evening meal is prepared and served by area churches and service groups.
On the fourth Thursday of each month, we prepare a meal at First Christian Church and serve it at the shelter. We plan the meal for 60-70 people.
Missions-partnering with foreign and domestic missions to fulfill the great commission with financial, prayer, and encouragement support.

Sunshine-caring for others with encouragement during times of need.
Leader: Jana Flores
We send cards to those who are ill or flowers/plants when there is a death in the family.
Special meals-caring for others by providing meals during times of need because of sorrow and healing.
Leader: needed
This ministry provides meals for funerals and for families when there is an illness or hospitalization.
Christian Help Association-partnering with CHA to imitate Jesus by providing food and Christmas gifts to people in need during the holiday season.
Leader: Doris Vandiver
This ministry works together with the CHA to donate food and clothing to families in the Wilmington area usually around the holidays.
