First Kings chapter eleven shares of Solomon's disobedience to God and the impact to himself and the kingdom from it. He blatantly disobeys God's direction for his life that leads to a rise up in enemies from around Israel, and within his own organization. This chapter is a warning and an encouragement to follow God wholeheartedly. Other kings on the throne of our life deliver division, destruction, and death. The loving Father beacons us to Himself, to turn from evil desires (and take measures to protect our hearts from them), to experience the treasure of His love and promises that pass through generations.
