A Letter to Timothy

In Paul's first letter to Timothy, he gives instructions for Timothy and the church at Ephesus. Chapter One encourages Timothy to stay in Ephesus and help teach the believers there to help avoid false teachings. Paul tells Timothy that this instruction is done out of love. Paul shifts to mention the use of the law for the lawless. Paul juxtaposes that sentiment, thanking God for the grace and mercy even he was given. Jesus came to be the intermediary on our behalf and is worthy of praise. The chapter ends with Paul encouraging Timothy to follow after Christ.
