The Power to Move

Jun 2, 2024    Jason Pace

This message was shared on 06/02/24 at First Christian Church in Wilmington, Illinois.

In this week's message, Pastor Jason Pace deals with the origins and mission of the first church, as seen in the book of Acts. This church's objective was to circulate the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jason elucidates that the book of Acts outlines how the church emerged and expanded following Jesus' demise and resurrection. He underscores that the mission of the first church, as directed by Jesus, was to make disciples of every nation. Pastor Pace urges his parish to possess the same passion and promptitude to disseminate the good news of Jesus Christ to those who are lost and to invite others to church, overcoming spiritual isolation by being brave in sharing their faith. In the second part of his sermon, Pastor Pace emphasizes the importance of unity within the church and encourages the congregation to appreciate and support each other's skills and abilities, as they are stronger together. He challenges the parish to pray daily for someone to know Christ and find prospects to preach the gospel wherever possible. He urges his congregation to be both a 'went' and a sent' church by supporting missionaries and ministries actively. Finally, he implores the members to participate in the upcoming Vacation Bible School to familiarize children and their families with Jesus Christ.
