Solomon's Palace

First Kings Chapter Seven gives an account of the building of Solomon's Palace...another major undertaking by Solomon. As with the Temple of the Lord, Solomon took great care to build with excellence in materials and resources. It is an encouragement for us to give God the glory for our talents and ability, and also to do all things with excellence as we are doing it for the Lord. It also details the accommodations made for several activities, including priest cleansing before sacrifice. Again, encouraging us to repent of sin and make reconciliation before coming to the altar of God as He will cleanse us from the inside out, as Jesus spoke of in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5.
