Timothy Joins Paul and Silas
Paul and Silas meet Timothy while preaching in Derbe and Lystra. Timothy joins them on their journey and they continue proclaiming the name of Jesus as they make their way to Philippi in Macedonia. There, they meet Lydia who is baptized after hearing their message. While staying with her, Paul and Silas heal a slave girl possessed with an evil spirit. Those she served have Paul and Silas arrested and they stay in prison overnight. An earthquake causes all the prison doors to open, but the prisoners chose to stay. The jailor was amazed and thankful as he would have been executed if they had all escaped. The jailor believes in the gospel and is baptized.
