Casting out Demons
This sermon was preached on 10/22/23 at First Christian Church in Wilmington, Illinois.
Pastor Jason Pace explores the story of Jesus casting out demons in Luke chapter eight. The sermon highlights the importance of rest and gathers us around God's Word for encouragement. Jesus calms a storm on the Sea of Galilee, teaching us that he came to calm us in the storm, not necessarily calm every storm in our lives. Pastor Pace discusses the encounter with a demon-possessed man within Gentile territory. Jesus intervenes and casts out the demons from the man, showing his authority over both the natural and spiritual realms. Although the people witness this event, they ask Jesus to leave out of fear. We are called to embrace Jesus in our lives, regardless of the circumstances. Jesus is the only cure with the power to restore, redeem, and bring peace amid personal storms.
